The week after a win

In our never-ending quest to bring you the complete statistical breakdown of the Thursday Night Investment Club, we spared no expense in an extensive study to determine which player plays the best the week after a victory.

It should come as no surprise that the overall leader — and reigning and defending champion — tops this category as well. The Silent Assassin has captured the top spot 12 times in 2010. The following week, he averages a finish of between second and third, mathematically at 2.75. He has repeated as champ once and followed up a victory with a first-out twice.

In second place is the Magic Man, whose average finish is 2.8, but with a far smaller sample size. He has won five times and in the subsequent game, he’s finished second three times and fourth twice. He’s never repeated nor has he finished last.

The Competitor checks in at third, 2.92. He’s the only player to repeat victories twice and he’s finished last twice following victories.

Fourth place belongs to Hoot at 3.38. His year was highlighted by back-to-back victories in his all-or-nothing third quarter and he’s followed victories with the walk of shame twice.

Peel-Out, who will add to his stats tonight, is fifth at 3.5. Like Magic, he’s never gone back-to-back with victories, but has finished last twice after a win. He’s coming off a victory last week.
